ENVIRONMENT

At Wood International we are constantly evolving to ensure that we meet new global environmental legislation, and, where possible, lead the industry with new initiatives and projects.

We are conscious of the increasing focus on environmentally ethical sourcing and practice being applied to manufacturing and construction projects across all elements of industry and commerce. Responsible sourcing is vital, and the need to take care of the worlds’ forests is always at the forefront of the business. It is with this in mind that in 2020 Wood International Agency formed an alliance with Track Record Global (TRG) to audit and assure compliance with United Kingdom Timber Regulations along all supply chains.

TRG work alongside the WIA team to give support in achieving sustainability and compliance commitments, and meet all legislative requirements.

“We believe that working with a third party to audit our supply chains gives even greater confidence to our customers that the products we supply meet the strict standards set out in the UKTR” comments Alan Lamont Managing Director.

PEFC Certification

More and more consumer products contain endorsements and third party environmental labels.  To help show your support for well-managed forests, choose products bearing the PEFC logo. PEFC’s distinctive ‘two trees’ label is now a globally-recognised brand. It can be found on a huge range of products, providing consumers around the world with the knowledge that the wood or fibre used in the product originates from a responsibly-managed forest.

Responsible sourcing of materials is a central aspect of modern, ethical and sustainable business. Wood International is one of more than 16,000 companies around the world to have achieved PEFC Chain of Custody certification and is committed to the goals of corporate social responsibility and sustainable procurement.

Chain of Custody Certification is the process of tracking certified material from the forest through the supply chain. It proves that each step of the supply chain from the forest to the end-user has been monitored closely with independent auditing. This unbroken link is transparent proof that certified forest products such as timber, paper and packaging materials were sourced from a responsibly-managed forest.

Our Chain of Custody certificate number is: CU-PEFC-COC-806533.

Wood International Agency Ltd holds PEFC Chain of Custody and has been independently audited by Control Union and is authorised to display the PEFC logo on and off product.

The Why and What of PEFC for Companies

PEFC, Caring for our forests.

In a PEFC – Certified Forest, every tree harvested is replaced with another one to ensure that forests can continue to supply raw materials to a wide range of sectors.
